Notable exceptions & rules - Every year CWIT offers two long term awards. These scholarships are for artists (all disciplines) and usually cover 10 months (the taught MA programme). The scholarships are very competitive and each year the grants panel has a tough job trying to identify the people who are likely to benefit the most. The scholarships are for artists and heritage professionals aged between 28–38 years and enables them to gain expertise in their chosen fields through postgraduate study (one year course) at a UK university.

- Must be not more than 30 years of age on 1 September of the year of application for the award

- Must have applied for and secured admission to study a full-time course at the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford. In addition, for the Indian scholarship, the following eligibility criteria apply:
- You must be a national of and ordinarily resident in India;
- You must have a first-class undergraduate or master's degree from an Indian university;
- You must not hold a degree from a university outside of India (this rule does not apply to study undertaken whilst in receipt of a Felix Scholarship); and
- You are expected to return to India after completing your studies.
